Parapet Wind Posts
Where wind resistance is required on low-height walls without roof cover, such as upstands or parapets, we offer tailored Parapet and spandrel solutions.
Available in U, L, H, and bespoke sections (excluding I-profile), these posts are reinforced with cavity ties and resist loads according to a span/deflection ratio of L/180 or to project-specific parameters.
Length typically limited to 1600mm for safety and fabrication efficiency. Delivered as full kits with weld prep and substrate-specific cleats. Fabricated in 304 stainless or S275/S355 galvanised steel. All fixings are prepared to ensure compliant connection to concrete, steel, or masonry substrates.
Parapet Wind Posts are calculated as a cantilever using deflection span fraction over 180° and are suitable to low walls with no roof line.
Utilising wall ties the post is embedded into the inner and outer walls, reinforcing it from lateral loads.
Every Wind Post comes with a welded base plate, loose top cleat, relevant fixings and wall ties. The base plate and top cleat are designed to suit your application no matter the substrate. The wall ties are selected to suit your wall cavity size.
Stainless steel grade 304 and galvanised mild steel grades S275 and S355 are available. Always isolate dissimilar materials. Calculated as a simply supported beam.
